The Story Behind Rooted

Rooted is more than a self-serve bakehouse. It’s a return to where our story began.

Long before Butter + Whisk became a place for cooking workshops, wine, and gathering around the table, it began with baking. And even as our business has grown and changed, we’ve never wanted to lose that part of who we are. There’s a reason the words Bake Shop never came down from our building.

Rooted brings that piece of our story back in a way that feels true to who Butter + Whisk is today.

Tucked quietly behind Butter + Whisk, Rooted is our self-serve bakehouse filled with small-batch breads, scones, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and seasonal surprises—all made fresh in the Butter + Whisk kitchen.

But the name Rooted reaches even deeper for us. It reflects where we came from, the simple beauty of things made by hand, and the belief that some of the best things grow slowly—from strong roots.

It’s a little nostalgic. A little unexpected. And intentionally simple.

Rooted is a self-serve bakehouse, stocked in small batches on select dates. Everything is available first come, first served and while supplies last.

Because Rooted is designed as a self-serve experience, we do not accept preorders, reservations, holds, or special requests for Rooted items. Our selection may change from one stocking day to the next based on season, availability, and what’s coming out of the Butter + Whisk kitchen.

All purchases are final. Due to the nature of our freshly baked food items, we are unable to offer returns or exchanges.

Rooted is unattended, so we kindly ask that guests shop thoughtfully, follow the payment instructions at the stand, and help us keep this little space beautiful for the next person.

Please note: Our kitchen handles common allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, and other ingredients. We cannot guarantee that any Rooted item is free from allergens or cross-contact.
